Job Opening – Graphic Designer/Digital Design Specialist (1 Year Contract Position)
Lura Consulting is a leading Canadian firm specializing in collaborative strategic planning, public and stakeholder engagement. We are hiring a Graphic Designer/Digital Design Specialist to work out of our Hamilton office and/or from a home-based studio in the Hamilton office.
We are looking for a talented designer with strong visual design skills and a knack for storytelling. This person will work closely with all members of the Lura Team, on a variety of projects both for external clients and on corporate branding and communications. The position will give you the opportunity to gain valuable, hands on work experience on diverse and exciting projects with an established consulting firm and leader in the field of community engagement and outreach, while further developing your own skill set.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelor of Fine Arts or degree/diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Visual Studies or other similar design-related field (recent graduates welcome).
Minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience in design or multimedia communications.
Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, PowerPoint and similar visual media programs.
Proven graphic/visual design capabilities, demonstrating strong sense of colour, typography, layout.
Capable of creating compelling presentations/graphics and websites that tell a story, showcase value as well as clear and distinctive messaging.
Familiarity with Provincial accessibility requirements for documents and websites.
Eligibility for an ECO Canada Grant is an asset.
Access to graphic design equipment, software and programs is also an asset.
Key Job Functions:
Work with the Lura Team to design materials and visuals for projects, proposals, as well as our corporate website, project websites, social media platforms, and events.
Strong ability to multi-task and work independently or within a team environment.
Capacity to manage multiple projects of varying complexities and involving diverse topics at any given time and work well under tight deadlines.
Compensation and Typical Work Week:
Compensation will be commensurate with experience. In some cases, there may be meetings, assignments or other project work where we would need you to work on evenings or weekends. We anticipate that the position would require 37.5 hours per week on average.
